Every now and then I get 8 fast chirps that will last for about 1 second. Imagine counting to 8 as fast as you can, that is how fast it is. This is a chirp not a beep and can occur as soon as the engine starts or even if you just put the key in and turn to position 2 . Does not matter if the seatbelts are connected or not. It can do this for several trips then not occur again for weeks. What is the Disco trying to tell me ?
(this is a 2004 Discovery II)

 

Maybe the little fan that circulates air for the HVAC temp sensor? Its behind the grill below and to the L of the column.

 

Thanks Red5, I had thought of that but it sounds more electronic than mechanical , it does seem to come from the left side dash but as it only last for 1 sec rather hard to track down. Is that blower easy to access by touch? If I can find it I may be able to catch it chirping

Mine did something very similar. I replaced the blower fan and it hasn’t done it since
