Default disco clock backlight

My clock backlighton my 97 disco just died on me. I'm not sure if its faulty wire or the backlight on the clock just needs to be replaced.

Mine did too...

So you have to insert very thin plastic cards, thinner than a Credit card right, top and bottom to get the clock out?? or is that the DII??

I remember reading a thread about it..

are you referring to how to take out the clock panel using a thin card? I think I have the Series 1 type of disco. Is it possible to use other type of light for the clock or its only available from a dealer? I'm pretty far from a rover dealership.. So any minor improvisation might help. Thanks again.

If its a 97 only can be a series one. It most likely is the bulb. When the clock comes out you can see where is goes, twists out. I bought perhaps 10 bulbs from atlanticbritish to replace outed dash lights on mine. Atlantic British has flat rate shipping unfortunately on items. around 13 USD on first item, even if its a sticker then it goes up from there.

My clock light went out a while back on my 98 Disco 1. I took the light out and the soldered light pulled out leaving the leads.
I bought light bulb to relace at AutoZone. Just besure the little wires in the bulb touches the leadsI just put the light back in the clock it worked for about $3.00 ...
