I found this one. They said its a 1999 but it has D1 door handles.?.?.?
130k, say head gaskets were replaced at 120k but nothing in writing to back it up. Hmmm.....

99 was a split year, both D1s and D2s were made.

At the very least it looks like whoever owned it had some idea what they were doing and didn't go cheap on the tires. Good purchase.

Is it just me or does the rear axle look forward and the front axle look offset of center???

I really like the looks of this one and the accessories already on it. The girl did say they had to "putty" some rust holes in the wheel well area of the rear door jams for it to pass inspection.
I will probably end up passing on it because it's 5 hours away on the other side of the state.

I did find another one today. There is a Land Rover dealer not too far from me and I was driving by today and spotted one without a plate on it near the back of the lot.
I'll call them tomorrow but I imagine being that it's at a dealership they'll be asking top dollar. Not sure if you can read it in the pic but 96k. I crawled under it and the frame looked brand new, shiny paint yet. Would be worth a little extra if all the service and maintenance is there.

That dealer one looks a lot like the one I saw at the lehigh valley auto auctioN in allentown, it sold for $3700. They also sold a 2002 discovery for $800. I recently bought a 2002 with 105k miles, 2 owner, records, everything works as it should, no leaks, head gaskets done.
I looked at a lot before settling on this one. It amazed me how many people were selling for a "friend", "relative", only owned for a few weeks, etc..... Almost all of these had suspect pasts and they didn't really know anything about the vehicle, title not in their name, etc.... If it doesn't pass the smell test, skip it. I got the feeling a lot of these were meant to be quick flips.

The sales manager said that it is going to the Lehigh valley auto auction later this week or next.
I've been searching like crazy in about a 3 hour radius around my area. I'm finding a bunch the prices and conditions are "all over the place" and nothing is really jumping out at me.
I found a 98 that looks nice and the price is right but the heat does not work and none of the windows are working.

This one looks nice, not crazy about the color and it's about 5 hours away.

Notenuff, are you from the Lehigh Valley?

Tracker,

I am in the Doylestown area but was hittign that auction regularly when looking for a rover. They had quite a few rovers go thru there end of 2013. Sometimes they have a "reserve" but if it is a dealer car, they usuallyhave a rep there and you can make a side deal if not sold.
