Angry Disco II '03 Pass Door Window regulator

Discovery II 2003 SE
My window stopped closing and seemed to come off the track, I can slide it up and down by hand. When i took the regulator out the quarter circle gear on the regulator the motor gear rides on had broken spot welds and fell off. I purchased a new regulator and installed keeping the old motor, with the old regulator missing the gear I was unable to orient the new regulator to its correct location for up and down. I installed and reinstalled 7 or 8 times trying different orientation for the gear location but the window will only go up about half way and stops. there seems to be nothing restricting its movements, the motor just stops raising the window at the half way point. Anyone have thoughts or experience with this issue?

Just get a new motor and be done with it. Good luck.

You need a new window motor.
The gear does not have to fit into the regulator in any certain location either, just bolt it on and it's done.
The motor itself is worn out.
