Default Disco II se7 01

I'm thinking seriously about buyin a 2001 disco 2 se7 75k miles. It's born date is 08/01 should I be worried about anything? It looks flawless.

Look under it for leaks.
Look at the front drive shaft. It must have grease fittings on all "U" joints or it must bbe replaced: Reason: it will drop down and spear your transmission - ruining it.
Make sure the brakes don't sqeak.
Make sure ALL warning lights on the dash are out.

Make sure that someone did not disable or use black tape on the INSIDE of the dash board to cover up the 3 Amigo's lights- which are for ABS brakes, traction control and hill decent or some such.

You must drive it about 5 miles before you buy it.
After that listen to the engine when it is hot and make sure there are no TICKS.

I have a 2001 and absolutely love it.

In fact - I would put on the hill decent and put it into LOW range.
the hill decent should active the ABS brakes at 5MPH or so.
And, the hill decent light will be ON.
Without this test, don't buy it.

Performing this test will cause dash lights to come on or what should I expect?

Default Another Discomike? Trouble...

Best to drive it more than 5 miles - ask for an hour or so test drive and drive it all over the place. Check AC, all electronics, take a look at fluid levels and fluid consistency. Right down VIN and get a CarFax. Finally, take to a mechanic (Rover trained, preferably).

Great! I did the carmax and it came back all positive...I live in Texas and I'll be flying to Miami to check it out in person and hopefully it will check out. All the advice is welcomed and appreciated.

I would not fly out of state to look at a truck, to many locally if you just wait.
