I've read that pre-2001 model Disco IIs have all the pre-wiring (including heating elements) pre-installed for seat heaters, and that all I have to do is to add the switches?

I have a 2000 SD model, with vinyl interior. Has anyone tried this? Almost sounds too good to be true....

 

I don't think you will have it with thevinyl interior, only the leathers have it.

pull the panel and see if the wiring harness is there.Mine is an 02SE and had them, I have leather though.

 

The wires may be there but if you don't have leather then there are no heating elemants.

good to know. I hooked mine up and finally got to use them as it's been in the 20's here. Definately a nice feature.

 

so my 03 SE Disco has pre-wired seat heaters??

 

Yes, all you need to do is buy the switch kit and change them out.

REALLY, wow I saw a few switches on ebay....Think I may need your help on this one Mike

 

Go to either Atlantic British or Rover Connection and order the switch kit, that way you will get all the necessary parts including the new trim plate.
