Default Disco II tire upgrade

I poked around in the archives but didn't see an answer for this one. I have a 2003 Disco with an Old Man Emu heavy duty shock and spring upgrade giving it about 2" of lift. I'm looking for a more aggressive offroad tire that will fill up the wheel wells a little more than the stock tires, but not something that is going to "howl" on the pavement. Running stock rims. Any suggestions out there for tire size and brand?

Do you have 16" or 18" wheels?

The pic looks like the 18" Hurricane rims.

Goodyear Duratracs are a great option. Good road manners, quiet, FANTASTIC off road.

not the most aggressive, but I am running the Hankook ATM's and I think they look pretty ill. I'm up in Colorado so they were mostly for snow, but theyve been great offroad.

Love those ATM's. What size are they?

I would love a set of those Duratracs ylo. Can you get 4 for under $750?

I got 4 BridgeStone Dueler AT Revo 2's about a year ago and they still look new after 15,000 miles. They were in the top 10 reviews on TireRack.com and about 15 Discovery users reviewed them well.

I paid around $200/ea for mine mounted and balanced at a Goodyear shop.

You could probably sell your used Bridestone's so you can included that if you decide to go for the Duratracs

That will change the options available to you. My 03 came stock with 16's and the prices are better and so is the selection.

You should have no issue with 31" tires, maybe a bit taller. Some great options for good off-road tires that don't drive you nuts on the freeway are the above-mentioned Hankook ATM and Goodyear Duratracs, Cooper AT3 and ST Maxx, General Grabber AT2, Pro Comp AT, and the good ol' BF Goodrich AT KO.
