Disco II Transmission Pricing
Ok, I've been shopping around for transmissions over the past few weeks and have come up with the option that I think is the best. Any advice is appreciated.
roverlandparts.com
Complete Tranny: $1,350 and a 66% discount on shipping with FedEx.
Tranny is guaranteed for six months.
Better options?
Thanks.

The price is a little higher them buying from a salvage yard, but the tranny has been gone thru and is warrantied.
You might also talk to the folks in Houston at Motor Cars limited and see what they can offer.

Also try Roverguy.com. Not sure if Will has a transmission or not but his price will probably be the lowest. He has a 1 year warranty on most parts not sure about a transmission though.
Also if you need a Tom Woods driveshaft he sells them for $350 shipped.

Thanks to all of you. I will check with all companies that have been suggested. Just visited the Tom Woods site and they asked for all this info about measurements and picking tube diameter and what spline to pick and other things like that. I have no idea what any of that means. I'm just starting to learn but Mr. Woods is speaking Portuguese. Can't I just call and say that I have a stock 2001 Disco that needs a drive shaft with greasable u-joints?

there is a listing in San Diego on craigslist for a used tranny for $300 Find a local driveshaft shop. I just had mine redone for $210. I only has four nuts in the front and four in the back. Good luck. Phil
this place lists millions of salvage parts http://www.car-part.com/ depending on where you live you may find one right close to you with very little miles and depending on where it is salvaged at it may or may not have warranty...
