Default Disco Mike's ACE Fluid Change procedure

Hello all.
Anybody got a line on Disco Mike's ACE fluid process? I'd like to get the thread or post where he spelled it out.

Thanks!!

If you're having trouble with the search because ace is too short you can search with quotes for something like "ace fluid"

I found the following from Disco Mike:

You do the exact same thing to the ACE as you do to the P/S. Plan on 8 to 9 quarts of P/S fluid and one bottle of Lucas, Stop Leak split between the 2 systems when topping them off

I don't have ACE but I really like this guide (and used it to great effect) for flushing/renewing my power steering fluid: https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...sco-2-a-82162/

I don't, and sadly searches mostly return posts where he asked people for their phone so he could call them. We oughta start a sub-forum where everyone who got instructions from him could post them:-)

Here is how I did it:
  1. Took my Disco for a short drive to warm up and circulate the fluid.
  2. Parked on level ground and shut the engine off.
  3. Remove the ACE reservoir cap and using a suction device remove the fluid in the reservoir to waste.
  4. Refill the reservoir with fresh PS fluid.
  5. Start the car and let it run for a minute or so to circulate the fluid.
  6. Repeat steps 3-5 until the fluid you are extracting is clean.
  7. (optional, but often recomended) Add half a bottle of Lucas Power Steering "conditioner"
Two comments.

A turkey baster is the most accessible suction device, but probably don't use it in the kitchen after. If you have other suction options, use them as long as you can see/inspect the fluid.

I have seen varying opinions on the Lucas product. I used it but my ACE pump was making a horrible racket. Most objections I have seen are around the idea of using a "stop leak" product as they often cause more problems than they solve, but in this case it is being added to increase lubricity and I don't really see it as a problem. I am sure folks will be along to let us know how mis-guided I am.

Hope that helps.
