Default disco/ rangie

hi, just joined this site and come to the age where i am able to buy and afford my first landy, been driving defenders at home for while but am looking to buy a p38 or disco in about 6 months, should have about 8 grand. is it good to spend 5 on the car 1 on the suspension and one on conversion to lpg and one probably on the extra insurance with the rangie. or go for a nice disco with 80-90k on the clock. is it worth it what with mechanics and costs of keeping it running or do i opt for a lotus elise??? help would be great??

I live in surrey, but go to an agricultural college in cirencester. use it a bit for off roading, shooting, towing boats and using for motorways as i do quite a bit to suffolk and back. obviously an elise cant do this! could go for a cheaper 300td disco. really not sure. what are your thoughts? thanks

There are a number of problems with the P38, and as much as I like it's lines, I wouldn't recommend it. Go for a Disco.
