Disco sticky from Park to Drive

Disco sticky from Park to Drive
I have noticed a few times when I am attempting to shift from Park to Drive (or Reverse), the gear will "stick". Specifically, if I am depressing the brake pedal and asking her to move out of Park, she will not shift. If I release the brake pedal and attempt to shift out of Park, there is no issue.
How common is this? I'm sure there is a fix for this; I'm just hoping I am not looking at initial indicators of a larger problem.

Im not certain but perhaps your brake light switch is starting to fail? When mine failed, it did so immediately though and when I started the truck I could not shift out of park. Think I may have noticed my rear brake lights were also not working. Replaced the switch and wa la problem solved. The switch is located directly underneath the brake pedal and is super easy to replace. EDIT: You just need to remove the panel that is located at the base of all the pedals. You just need a panel popping tool or a pair of scissors to carefully remove the plastic pieces that hold the panel on, but be careful not to break them. The brake light switch itself just twists off. SWITCH BRAKE LIGHTS P38A, DISCOVERY II & FREELNDR, RNL115, XKB100170 - Rovers North - Classic Land Rover Parts
