Why did you replace the fuel pump to begin with? You need to be more specific.

replaced the fuel pump because it went bad, unhooked the bat cable to install the fuel pump, once i was done, hooked the cable back up, tryed to crank up the truck and it would not turn over. tryed the unlock 3times thing did not help. but right b4 i unhooked the bat. it would turn over but not crank

Pump probably wasn't bad, that is the problem with replacing parts like you know what your doing without asking for help first.
If you spray carb cleaner into the t/body, reinstall the hose and try to start the engine, will it start?? Does it have spark, did you check the fuse and has the fuel relay been replaced?????

It would turn over but not start, cranking and turning over are the same thing.
Like Mike said, check for spark first.

if you mean not used to workn on rovers, by saying not knowing what im doin then u r right, i sprayed starter fluid in the tb first thing. started instantly, i did not hear the pump pumpn, so i assumed the pump was bad after i checked the fuse under the hood. now the relay i did not check and to my knowledge has never been replaced.thats stuff i did b4 i even posted cause to me thats common sense to check first. now after i tooked the cable loose for a couple hours it turns over but want start.

let me start from the begining.truck started cut out a 70 mph some times bout two weeks a go, i thought it was bad gas. so sat my wife was drivn and she said it flt like was running out of gas so she filled up,started comming home, pulled a hill and the car shut off.so i walked to the car started the car, and i can hear the pump sounded real weak, droved the car about 100 yards and it sputterd home like the pump was going out.cut it off, tryed to start it and it would not start. installed a pump and now still wont start im go check and make sure its getn power to the back, and let yall know.

Sounds like a clogged $15 fuel filter.
You can buy a new one at Wal-Mart.
It is behind the rear passenger wheel bolted to the frame.
