Disco2 Steering Tight After Seal Overhaul
Good day all.
Vehicle is a LR Disco 2 V8.
The steering box had been leaking fluid from the bottom seal for years. It got to the point that I had to top up the reservoir daily.
I decided to buy the seal kit for the bottom of the box. Changed all those out, reinstalled. Made sure to bleed out all the air. Everything seemed fine for the first few days.
But then the steering started to get progressively stiffer. And for some odd reason the entire indicator/wiper stalk assembly started to rotate with the steering wheel.
It is now undriveable. With the front end off the ground, the steering feels okay. No noticeable binding. But while driving it’s almost impossible to turn without yanking the wheel with two hands.
Any advice would be appreciated greatly.
