Yea when I was 14 I had a ride I my friends parents discovery I was totally bewildered by the comfort and beauty of the vehicle like nothing I had ever been in. Ever since than I have wanted one. I have seen a lot of 94-98 discovery's with around 150k on the for around 3k, is this really high millage for this SUV? What would be a good year and millage I can get for between 2000-4000 preferably around 3000?

With proper care these trks will last well into the 200,000 mile range. The body panels are alumium so they wont rust. If the engine goes then you can have it rebuilt, same with the transmission, axles, transfer case. With proper care these trks will last forever. Mine is a '97 and has just over 172,000 miles on it and it runs like a top, we get 18-20mpg on the expressway and I dont even want to know what we get in town.
It pulls my utlity trailer like it wasnt there, and when we off road we go places that people with modified trks cant go. And our trk is stock.
So, dont be afraid of the km's on the odometer, just make sure that it is running good, take your time and find the one that speaks to you. Took me 9 months to find just the right trk.
Your young and excited, but take your time. There are plenty out there and will be plenty more with the price of gas.

thanks for the help. I do like the fact it can pull a trailer im a hunter, fisher and outdoors guy. Yes I am pretty exited because I always thought even used ones where 10 000+ because where I live no ones has then (redneck pickup county). Currently im just leaning about them I wont be buying till the fall. The information and patience with my ignorance has been great, most people where I live dont even know what a land rover is so I really know nothing about them

Here are some web sites to look at to give you an idea what parts are going to cosy you.
www.atlanticbritish.com, www.roverconnection.com, www.roversnorth.com, www.roverlandparts.com.
Some sites have tech tips, so just explore the sites when you have time.
