Default Discovery II TailLight Conversion

Hi, I was just wondering if I could convert my Tail lights from an 01 Disco II to the 03-04' Tail Lights and Bumper Lights and if so, is it just plug and play? I got hit and run and If i have to replace those parts, I might as well just convert them right?

They are plug and play, but you have to consider that the 03-04 taillights have the turn signals up above and the reverse lights where the turn signals are on your 01. You will need to do some work to change both around if you're going to convert.

I actually like my 2002 tail lights better than 2004, I was just thinking that the other day.

I know they are plug and play kinda but I was wondering about the turn signal part. Like if I swap both the bumper and the rear tail lights, will it be plug and play, everything will work normally or would the lights be swapped? ex: I put my car in reverse and the turn signals come on or if I turn my turn signals on and the reverse lights come on?

Yeah, you will have to rewire it to activate the turn signals from the bumper up the taillights.

I've heard of people throwing an amber bulb in the clear portion of the 04 bumper reverse lights, but then you still deal with the issue of having a reverse light up top. I can't really tell you how to change the wiring because I've never heard of anyone doing to be honest. Maybe someone else will chime in, but I can tell you that you will have to do some wiring to make it work.

I have a zip file that has the headlight conversion and I am pretty sure it has something for the tail lights too. PM me your e-mail and I will send it to you, if you want.

I used clear lights with amber bulbs in mine. I rewired the red side (rear fog lights) to come on with the brake lights. I was tired of getting rear ended, I now have 5 brake lights.
