DIY compressor with cheapo from HF and 1 gallon tank from Ebay
#12
First I modified the compressor from Harbor Freight: got rid of all the useless plastic trims, removed the switch and fuse holder (using a 16A switch for 30A was a bad idea anyway), installed a barb fitting for the air input and made it watertight. The 1 gallon tank from Ebay got a 100/70psi pressure switch and is filled through the flexible leader hose with integrated check valve. Tank and compressor (with 4 rubber isolators) were mounted on an aluminum base plate. The whole thing fits nicely into the SLS compressor bay (I will use a longer hose to get the air intake above the worst case waterline):
Finally I got it installed today.

How did you connect the breather hose to the intake of the compressor? Also what Air filter did you use? I love the way it looks!

I removed that fragile air filter, which has a male thread. I drilled the hole in the cover up to get an NPT angled barb (3/8) adapter in. I added an NPT nut and a gasket from inside. It is 1/8 NPT, I believe.
Installed about 11 ft of 3/8 hose along the frame going up to the DS tail light. The cable was routed over the transmission to the PS frame and then along the frame to a fuse box inside the jack stand cubby.

Electrical connectors, cable, nuts and bolts local HW store or ebay.

Edit: just noticed this is the case that the system comes in. Looks like you added or moved the switches and added some lights. Very cool!
