if you don't plan to off-road, don't buy the Tom Woods. It's overkill, and you may have vibrations at high speeds (75+ mph).

Your truck weights as much as a killer wale, it ain't gonna stop quick.

Don't let the dealer bleed your brakes, do it your self and learn what makes you truck tick.
3 to 4 pints of DOT 4 brake fluid and 2 feet of 5/16" hose and your set, all for under $20.

I notice the brake feel on my 2000 D2 is very different from my 2003 D2. I tried to bleed already, maybe changing out the front pads and rotors when needed will change the feel, just my .02

I test drove my 01 D2 from private party and thought is was great but a lot of pedal travel. So it was a long distance purchase so test drove on Monday, and was in that area for business, so did the deal and had the local dealer check out the soft pedal. Result first/last dealer trip new brakes and rotors, same soft pedal. I did later bleed them myself and added Valvoline Synth brake fluid. Still a lot of travel from what I am use to on other vehicles, but stops well, and on the second pump tightens up.

I have heard from some that D2's are like that, but not sure what else to do. They do stop me well though.

I may well have my mech check the vacuum boost; the symptoms are starting to feel familiar to me, and they feel like a vacuum leak on the booster.

And as my other thread explains, no, it apparently isn't the master or booster after all...

I am thoroughly impressed with my brakes. Dual piston up front stops my truck amazingly fast.

Bleeding is fun, as others have said do it yourself.

If that was to me: I just cast about on Craigs, and found someone who had an already-rebuilt one with zerks and all, bought it for $100.
