Wife's 95 D1. Shocks are shot. This one isn't taken off-road much (at least any real off-roading). Can I just replace the shocks or should I do shocks and springs (do the springs wear out?)

you can just replace the shocks, but it is kind of a band aid. if you have the coin do the springs also. the truck will ride better with a matched pair of shocks and springs vs. a set of worn springs and new shocks

 

ya at that age the springs are probably pretty well worn out

 

If the back has sagged/dropped new springs do alot more than shocks.

 

Both your shocks and coils should be replace, especially if you will be keeping it awhile and want a much better ride.
Consider buying one of the OME medium lifts from, http://www.lucky8llc.com/Search.asp?Manu=OME for a great replacement and probably the best price around.

 

Thanks all.. That is what I kind of figured. I have the OME setup on my other disco. Was trying to save some $$ to put into my disco .
