Do stock wiper arms
So I've been dealing with the wiper arm issue on my 02 disco. Not the fact that NOBODY sells blades but the dealer.. I don't care about that.
The issue I speak of is the fact that the spring inside the left wiper arm is too weak to keep the blade pressed on the glass on the down stroke. I have become tired of this and really don't see much point in converting to d1 arms when there isn't anything wrong with mine. I read somewhere on here(maybe LRO.COM) that somebody bought springs from lowes or something... I went a different route.
Take off the wiper arm.. remove the blade and that stupid fragile clip that LR dealers charge 12 bucks for. On the underside you will see the spring and this "c" shaped clip keeping it tight. Remove both. Stick the "c" in a vice or ora really good pair of pliers and squeeze it. Not too much.. you still have to put it back on. Reassembly will be be a PITA... but it works for me.. and the grand total cost of repair? Free.99.
If it's already been done cool. I was too lazy to search. This trick also worked on my 97 grand prix and 89 merkur.

This imo is the best option. I prefer the D1 arms over the D2 arms anyways.
There are a few guides floating around about retrofitting some standard blades to the D2 arms but when it's pouring rain and you lose a blade and want to do a quick swap why deal with the hassle when you can just zip into pep boys or whatever and grab a standard blade and be done with it.

I just made the swap...
The DI arms have two smaller springs as opposed to the one larger one on the DII arms.
The hinge on my DII arms had become stiff and the springs had become weak.
I ordered the kit from Atlantic British and then swapped out the blades that come with the DI arms from Atlantic British for a set of 21" Rain-X Latitude blades for the winter.
They work awesome...
Best mod I've made, with the exception of the CDL Shifter mechanism I just installed...

I didn't want to go with the d1 arms. I figured this was best solution. I like the way it's set up. I have no problem going to the dealer..(have a connection), blades are not that bad at cost. Just figured I would throw it out there.
