Do you change injectors as ''while you're in there'' item?
Hi,
I posted this question at the end of my head gasket thread but I thought maybe having a new title may help.
So I saw many people purchase the rebuilt injectors from eBay. The question is, would do that because they are accessible having the intake removed or do they rarely fail?
The truck has 150k miles on it.
Thanks
David

They rarely fail. And if they do fail, you'll know it. If they were working fine (i.e. no misfires or codes), pintle caps and filter basket look good, I would just put new o-rings in and call it a day.
I replaced mine mostly out of curiosity last weekend to rule out a potential problem... but didn't notice any change.

Pretty sure I'm still running the original injectors. Only had trouble with them once when I was using cheap gas long ago. You can clean them yourself if needed, seafoam and a glass jar. activate with a 9v battery. New O rings, yes. Cheap gas, no.
When I did my HG, I had my oem ones rebuilt locally, which was about the same as a new set, but only 1 day turn around. I had 2 that were 60 percent clogged and most the others were 30 percent clogged. It helped smooth out the idle
I was seeing some ''idle roughness'' on my nanocom so it might help. I have nobody local to rebuild them so I did the rebuilt set off eBay.
Thanks! They should get here next week.
