does the 03-04 disco hav any problems i should worry about?

Oil pump failures are extremely common on '03s. There is a TSB that establishes the VIN range most likely to be affected.
That being said, oil pumps fail outside the VIN range and some '04s have failed as well.
To be clear, the issue is not the oil pump, itself. Rather, the block was mismachined and the front cover that houses the pump gears does not align correctly placing the gears under stress. Thus, the gears fail prematurely.
The only demonstrated fix is a new block as per Land Rover. People are experimenting around with DIY fixes but it's anyone's guess if they'll work over the long run.
Other concerns are head gaskets, which tend to go around 75k. Spark plug wires also don't hold up well and should be replaced around 60k.
