Pls help. I intend to get a 2002 disco 2 and hope to lift it up by 2-3' using suspension kit avalable. However, I heard that 00-02 models all had air suspension at the back which mean it cannot be lifted. Pls advise....many thnks indeed.

 

You heard wrong, only some of them, like mine and if you want to do a 2" or 3" lift you still can real easy.

Thanks Mike. However, I am presently based in HK. It might be easier to send email thou. I will PM you separately. It has been difficult trying to find one with coil spring for the 2002 onwards model- most have air suspension. I will keep on searching for one- althought my 4x4 club member in HK keeps asking me to switch to the Japanese Prado...sign....

Btw, is there anything I should look out for when inspecting a 2nd hand Disco II?

I am sending you some pictures this morning of my 99 D2 with the rear suspension and a near 3" lift, easy to do and looks great when done.
How big a tire will you be going to and what sort of wheeling do you have in mind?

 

Cheers Mike. Yr D2 looks super cool- I suppose with a safari snorkel wud make it prefect esp in the deep water.

Wrt to the lift, are you saying that even if the back is air suspension, I can still lift it up or what.
If you dun mind, go take a look attis , it is one potential I am looking at.

Due to space limitation, we usually do hills and rock climb and long distance drive to places like Tibetfor charity drive to remote places in China.
Many of them are in Suzuki Vitara or Toyota Prado...I m the one with Freelander ...cheers!
