Default Does anyone know this D2?

Hey guys,

I've been a LR addict for years, but with all the negative talk around them I couldn't ever bring myself to get one (I drive a 92 FJ80). But, I think I'm ready to try one on for size.

Does anyone know this D2 that is for sale:
2004 Land Rover Discovery Lifted 65k Miles- Clean - Expedition Portal

My FJ80 is our family camping/off roading machine, but I think the D2 can handle the off road stuff we throw at it, but better on the interstate.

I'd love any advice I can get. Thanks.

Chris

That guy bought the truck to build it and then sell for a huge profit.
Roof rack $1200, lift $700, tires $1000 wood trim kit $300, MAF $250, a bottle of Armoral $6.
I bet he paid less then $6000 for the whole truck, put $3000 into it and sell it for a huge profit, not a bad gig.

Realistically you are looking in the $4500-$6500 range for a nice used DII, less for one that needs work.
Dont pay for someone else's additions, all of the goodies add a few hundred to the price but you dont add those things to make a profit.

In my opinion $4,500-$6,500 is to low and $13,500 is to high. It is a 2004 and 65,000 miles is pretty low. I would say it is worth around $8,000-$9,000.

I agree... for a low miles 2004 I'd pay up to $8000 if everything works... but since I already have a high miles 2003 that's paid for, I'm ok just upgrading what I have.

The first thing that I did to mine when I got it was to carefully remove all of the wood that you are talking about without scratching anything. I only left the wood that came with the truck originally.

Hey Chris,
I was in the same boat as you...always wanted a Disco but was scared off by its bad reputation. Anyway, 2 weeks ago I bought a 2004 SE7 after looking at (and rejecting at least 10 others). I know its early, but so far I love it. I am a preventative maintenence guy so I have already started doing the to-do list at the top of this category and I am going on the assumption I will have to keep on it. But, I have been working on cars my entire life, so its par for the course for me.
