I am looking for new mechanic. I value honesty and integrity above all. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I'll second Hamal's recommendation. Carlos is one of the best Land Rover specialists I know of.

He is in my book as the one to call when I need someone. I'm almost thinking of calling and introducing myself early.

99,000, orig HGs, all is good for now.

Unless I find my ***** and do it myself by then. Although having a warranty of any kind is worth it's weight. Being a first timer, and having to strip it down again cos of something stupid. Don't fancy that much.

I actually took it to him for my HG replacement, as it failed in the dead of winter and my garage isn't what you would call heated.

What with it not having a door and all.

Carlos and his guys did an excellent job, and I wouldn't hesitate to bring it back to him for work should the need arise again.

I might well do that. A lot will depend on what I have going on when the time comes. Bank account etc.

I've done motorcycle HGs. But that's about it.

It all seems just a little bit specific. Torque figures, sequences, this gasket, that gasket, one dab too much rtv on the wrong seal.

And with Carlos coming in as a super hero right now......
