If not, which set should I get?

 

i would recomend Akebono ceramic euro pads, less dust & less codes.

 

Akebono ceramic pads and any decent after market set of rotors, will cost you more but the pads will far out perform the basic cheap pads sets that are offered in a kit.
Amazon and E-Bay have the best prices on them as well as the replacement brake line, which are a must at your mileage if you want a firmer brake pedal.
Also remember to do a full 2 quart DOT 4 brake flush when done

 

The brake pads in that kit are OEM, meaning they came on your truck from the factory.
That kit will be more than fine.
Personally I'd go to AutoZone and get pads locally with a lifetime warranty.

 

the only problem with that is autozone only carries one brand of pads for duralast $25.

 

With the way I abuse any thing, lifetime warranty never seems to work out. In a few years they will be shot, I'm ok with that personally.

Well for heavy off road use, what would be recommended kit wise? I guess I'm just asking for someone to say "get this one (provided link)" and I go ok and go on about my day

I run thier rotors without a problem and I installed the pads from the kit into another disco, that member has not told me of any problems.

 

There are no H.D. brake kits on the market, as mentioned before Akebono pads and to make a better system DBA slotted and drilled rotors.

By the way, the term OEM, doesn't mean they were used by the factory, it just means they are copies, made by other after market companies that are supposed to be an equal, but rarely are.

 

You'r gonna laugh but---- Pepboy's Has the nicest pads I have ever used ---- Get the ProStop Cearamics, They can also order you the rotors - Which are cheap, straight as an arrow, and burnished.
