Default RE: Door lock actuator, dont buy a new one

Does this repair work on D2's? My lock actuators are really, really slow to move and require the unlock button to be pushed several times.

Also, sounds like the actuators need to be opened on a seam and and are not screwed shut. How doI re-assemble/seal these?

Thanks, David

Same story here. My front passenger door lock stopped working. Removed the door panel, mirror, frame and the actuator (the white plastic piece that connects the rod to the door handle pops open so you can slide the rod out once you open it...took a little bit of fiddling around to figure that out) from the vehicle and was able to open the actuator and get to the motor. The D2 apparently isn't as easy as the D1 to get the motor out, but what I have is a small dc motor with the numbers 20005 and 3C1562 stamped on it from Johnson (electric I presume). Has anyone found this particular motor before and if so where can I purchase it or a replacement one that will fit? Or, where can I get new or used one with a warranty for a decent price? I looked at roverland and they didn't have any for the D2. If I could figure out how to upload pics I would put some up for everyone who has the same questions as I did. Thanks, Jere

You might have to fabricate that part from scratch. If it's plastic, go to Walmart and buy a $2 plastic cutting board ad cut and dremill. You'll have plenty left over for downstream projects.

Default disco door actuators

I have just bought a actuator direct from china for my 98 disco, it is i direct replacement for the landrover one, even comes with modification kit if required for £2.60 = £280 postage it fits straight onto the mounting plate and requires two cable connectors to fit to the LR plug.
