When you are going down a steep incline. It is only used off road at slow speeds, not on public roads at normal driving speed.

I suppose you can use it. Check the manual on how to use it.

Yes, only very steep hills where you may be tempted to use the brake otherwise.

To activate feature, make sure you're in low gear, simply push the button and select first gear. Let off the gas slowly and let it work its magic. Dont push the brake, even though you'll be tempted too. If you use the brakes, it overrides the the HDC and you could start sliding.

That's a perfect time to use it. If you are in a situation where pushing the break could cause sliding and you're on a downslope, its fine. Just never on dry pavement.

when you say "low gear" do you mean 4x4low? or just like 1st gear.

i'm a pu#$Y on snowy hills and probably use the brake when i shouldn't.

i'm happy to crawl down a hill, in my ole truck i would put it in 4x4 low and 1st gear

"Check the manual on how to use it."

i prefer advice from actual users rather than a few lines from corporate headquarters :+)
