Dream has ended...
Hello everyone. Haven't been on for a while. Military duty has taking me away from the rover scene. I come with sad news....
I sold my rover...
Eyes teared up as I watched the new owner drive off with her.
Good news is im going to be their sole mechanic so I will get to keep her in the amazing shape she is in.
I had it listed in the 5 digits and it sold for more than my asking price. I bought it for 8K in 2008 with 56k miles and put 20k miles on her.
in 3.5 years I added:
roof rack $800
front bumper $800
rear ladder $100
rock sliders $500
Tires $1000
Akebono pads $100
DBA Rotors $490
Lights $125
Bush Cables about $120
Thermostat retrofit $150
12k lbs Warn winch $650
Magnecore wires $85
CDL Actuator $400
CDL $400
EE Stainless Steel 2in extended brake lines front and rear $150
M.I.T Steering pump $500
Never got to buy the +2in Terrafirma suspension I wanted... =(
$6370 Total added to the car...
with what I sold it for, it cost me $85 dollars to drive per month in the 3.5 years i had her. That doesnt include the insurance and gas, and oil changes, fluid changes, coolant flushes, and other maintenance I did.
I loved it. Now its time for someone else to...
I will be drop by from time to time!
Seasons Greetings!!
PS: I hope my time devoted to rovers and advice I gave helped the community.
PSS. The last two pics are the "BEFORE" and the first couple are the "AFTER"

Couldn't imagine Josh! You really put a lot into that truck and I know that was prob tough. You def have helped us all with your posts and write-ups.
Thanks for all your time and effort. I'm sure that wont be your last rover.

The only good part is Discovery's now can be had for $4000 to $5000 grand. So keep your eyes open. I know it would take some doing to get one to the Island but, they are a deal. Best bet is to find one with half of the mods you did. I just did your CDL install. Thanks for all you help. I would have never attempted it without your detailed instructions.
