Default drive shaft interchangability

I have a 2000 disc2 4.0 with 80000, you have properly scared me enough that I feel I should rebuild my driveshaft just to be safe. But I can not afford to be down any length of time, my job requires 24 hr access. So I thought I would find a core and rebuild that one, so it will be a simply R & R. Can anyone tell me what years will work in a 2000 4.0 liter automatic disco 2. does anyone have a core they want to get rid of?

A 2000 will fit....
You don't need to get a second one, remove your front drive shaft and lock your CDL and keep on driving. Remember to unlock CDL when you replace the front drive shaft, otherwise you will end up rebuilding a lot of other things.

99-02 should work. The 03-04 have a 4.6l engine which made the engineers think they needed a more heavy duty transmission, which is longer. This changes the length of the shafts.

thanks for the information on interchangability, unfortunatley running without a front drive shaft is not an option for me. I dont know where you are located but we have had over 80 inch of snow this season and still have roughly 6-weeks left. being caught in at 5k lb truck with 2 wheel drive in a 12-16 inch snow storm would not be a good thing.

We had real heavy fog this morning in Florida, man that sucked
I guess ice skating a 3ton brick is not fun.
