Default Driver Side Mirror loose

My driver side mirror was hit and is now loose. You can move the mirror forward and back with no resistance.
It stays in position, however you can just tap it and it will move.
Does anyone know how to tighten up the mirror bracket?
I know how to remove the;mirror bracketfrom the truck, what I do not know is how to tighten so it won't move without a little effort.

Sounds like you broke the little detent stops inside the mirror and I don't think there is a repair.

Went on ebay and found a drivers side mirror kit for24.95 + shipping.
(included cover for interior)
Heck of lot cheaper then dealership and parts on the internet sites.
Took all of about 20 min to change out old mirror mounts and remount replacment mirror.
Would have cost in excess of $400 from dealership.
Just like new again....

Is this what you mean?

Mine just broke. Not sure how the heck it broke...probably a kid playing outside must have ran into it or something.

I'm able to drive with it but it shakes a little.

Not sure how to 'fix' it. I wonder if epoxy would work to keep it in place.

No visible 'hit'.

Further inspection i noticed a piece missing (directly over the cable).

I found this inside the mirror. It looks like it broke.
