Default Driveshaft temperature...2002 D2

Has anyone monitored their drive shaft "temperature" with a laser temp gun...to see if it's getting hot.? I went for a 20 minute drive and then took the temps. The transmission was about 120 F, the front driveshaft cardan joint was 115F. The rear shaft at the rubber coupling was about 85f....The cats were in the area of 400F. The engine was at operating temp...

Seems to me that the front and rear driveshafts are not heating up substantially...

Comments?

True....

It took about 30 seconds to do. Just trying to be logical...Poor lubrication = friction. ..Friction = heat...etc

Now I'm curious about the front drive shaft temp. lol. Long story short = 4in RTE lift. 1st driveshaft that came with the lift failed after about 9K. 2nd driveshaft failed at 3K.
3rd drive shaft= Tom Woods. Still good after 1K.

Are you trying to run without lube? Lube it and be done? Do you have a history like this other guy, that's some bad luck.

Really?!...Not at all....I had the shaft lubed about 1000 km ago..(.At least they said they did...) Its got those needle type grease fittings, so I've learned that many places don't have that type of grease needle.

This bit about the temperature check...was just for interest.

I've never had a failure...

Probably best to lube it myself...
