Default Driving without front driveshaft?

I am finally going to get to the u-joint replacements in the DC tomorrow. When I have the front driveshaft removed, is there any reason I can not drive the vehicle if I need to? And not just a short drive, but as much as 100 miles? I know in a 4WD vehicle that would be a non issue, but was not sure about this all wheel drive setup. I can not see why it is a problem, but I could be missing something.

Been a long haul with the maintenance. Serp belt, plugs, wires, coolant, brakes all around and flush, ps flush, trans, dif and transer case flushes, trans filter, oil change, wiper blades, new rear wiper arm, new lower fan cowl, new air box cover, new belt pulley cover, chasis lube, turn signal stalk, seat heaters and switches, remove ugly fau wood trim stuff and all four headlight bulbs. Tomorrow the OEM springs and shocks plus the u-joint. Then the wiper stalk and I am done.

btw it is an all time 4 wheel drive vehicle and not an all wheel drive... there is a difference. I believe as long as you have a CDL you can but I'm not sure if it is a good idea to drive that long.

just put it in diff lock, if you don't have diff lock on your t.box shifter(not sure what year your rover is) climb under the vehicle with a 10mm open end wrench, the selctor shaft might be there on top of the front output housing depending on year of the car, you can manually engage diff lock from there, there is a notch on the shaft right where it goes into the housing the 10mm will fit.

IT IS NOT ALL WHEEL DRIVE!!
It is full time four wheel drive, there is a HUGE difference.
And because you have a 2003, no, you cannot drive it without the front driveshaft.
You do not have a CDL equiped t-case so you cannot lock the CDL and drive it.

Drive your all wheel drive Hummer 1 instead.
Or your part time four wheel drive Ford van.

I have an 03, thought it was in my sig, sorry.

Ok, looks like I can not drive it. Oh well. The wife will have the Van, the Hummer is torn apart for an overhaul and I lost the sway bar connects for the Jeep and can not drive it on the freeway. Down to just the LR for right now. That is why I wanted to drive it. No problem, will just work around it.

For my daily driver paved old fart habits, have not needed it once. Half the age of my Disco has run without the front driveshaft... and no front shafts, no churning metals in the front end, front wheels spin freely.
Agree with all who do not like what I did or not understand the 'why'. I will do it again if another 4WD comes to my hands. I like the Rover, like its riding height visual, do not see another vehicle brand with the features I like. The air bags are gone too. The toy radiator is gone too. The thermostat went to the garbage can since 2012. Implemented in-line thermostat in 2012 and 'spits ice cubes' by the tail pipe.
