Default Drop down running boards?

Neighbor has a jacked up pickup. Opens the door, running boards drop down. Close the door they come up and hide.

I searched these online for Discos and nothing came back. Anyone use these to help wives, mothers, grandmothers get into the truck?

WOW! you need hydraulics. It is possible though. But you have to modify it to your wanting. There is another term for that that they use for lifts which look like shock absorbers.

My son had them on his dually with 6" lift and 38" tires. It was much needed.

Now I remember, you can use a linear actuator and for a small unit it can lift up to 350 pounds of weight. Easy way to do it is to mount n weld a slide rail on both ends and let the actuator push the side step outside when needed. Actuators vary in the amount of travel you need, If you want it to retract/fold under the chassis, you have to design a scissor type linkage to hold the step,

This is what I'm talking about. Not sure if anyone uses them on Discos.

I would think on a lifted disco while they would make entry easier but they are likely to be really expensive trail trash.
