Default Dry Spot on Steering Wheel Turn

When I back out of my parking spot at work and spin the wheels around, it seems that for about 2 inches of the wheel turn in the same spot I get a little creak and it feels like lubrication is dry, just in that one spot. I am greasing the driveshafts this weekend, what else do I need to lubricate?

This seems to be fairly common for Discovery's. When I first purchased my Disco, I took it in to an indie Rover mechanic to diagnose since I couldn't find anything. They could not find anything visible that would cause it, nor could they replicate the 'creak.' They greased everything up while it was in, then I changed out my old PS fluid for Royal Purple soon after.....it still does it every now and then, but I have learned to block it out.

I have seen several threads about this, but no one has every really had a good answer. I have heard rumor of a TSB, but have not been able to find it.

Yeah, the creak is very mild and only a split second when I turn the wheel, brand new PS pump and fluid, so I am guessing it is something like a tie rod rubbing or something.

Your driveshafts have nothing to do with it.
Is it coming from inside the cabin?
Like from the dash/steering wheel area?
