dtc codes, still need help
Hi evryone, im new here and to the wonderful world of land rover.
I have just got ahold of my first disco and im in love with it but it has some problems it has 7 dtcs. it a 96 disco with 130000 miles on it. ok heres the list P0443, P0560, P1194, P1188, P1193, P1191, P1185. Yes iv done the research i know the bulk are 02 codes but i wanted to know if because i have so many differnt ones could something else be causing the dct light? any info would be great thanks.

naw, that many is not surprising, it may start with one, people ignore it, because it still runs, the computer gets in a snit, throws another, so on and so on.
let's say it's an o2 sensor, replace them in pairs at a minimum (one side, both sensors)
then it may take several start engine, drive cycles to clear the ECU unless you do it with a reader.
I used ngk? universals $60 ea. on mine (had to wire on old connectors) installed driver's side 3yrs ago, pass side sept'09.
they work great.
luck,greg

thanks for the reply, i was hoping that with the open circuit codes that their was an open in the harness. were did u find the 02s for $60? and what do u think is going on with P0443, and P0560 and agin thanks.
Like i said i did the research the day i got her i changed plugs, wires, all fluids, and all filters, and also the rear brakes. i had auto zone erase the codes as i do not have a scan tool of my own, and bing it came on, on the way home so i turned around and these are the codes i got.
P0560....SYSTEM VOLTAGE MALFUNCTION
first check the wiring connection at the purge valve, and how do the wires look ?
To the OP, replace all of your O2's. All 4 with the right ones, not universal. I think roverconnection has them the cheapest now. With a 96 you are most likely without AEL, but check the diagrams under the hood to be sure. The O2's only last about 80K on D1's , so you are due. I would start there.
ok you guys i replaced all 4 02s reset the light and 3 miles later bam the light is back on. i gess its time to roll up the sleves and get dirty. any pointers on were to start?
and what is the function of the 2 small bulbs in the head lights? thanks

Do you still have the evap codes ?....exactly what are they (# s)
the small bulbs in the headlight are "city" lights to the brits......in many sections of Europe the streets are very narrow and the buildings are very close to the street....dim lights are used so you don't blind someone in their home as you drive by, but allow you to be seen by oncoming traffic.

is that what that other fog light looking switch is? yes i still have P0443 and P1191. where is the purge valve located? and i found out why cruise controle is not working the vacume is not hooked up, after 3 hrs of messing with the rave manuel i got it to open but i cant seem to find a vacume chart, or am im over looking it. and to top it all off i was playing in the snow for the first time in my own 4x4 today and the alt. went it just keeps piling it on and on
