Default Dual Batteries

is it safe to hook up two batteries to each other. Can the system handle two batteries. Or would it be consider 24v instead of 12v?

I am 90% sure that you can just connect negative to negative and poative to posative and you will only increase your CCA and still be at 12V.
Let me work on this for a day and I will find out for sure.

If you connect them in series, you would have 24v (not a good idea), if you connect them in parallel, it would still be 12v but double the AH rating. Example below where 2 6v battsbecome 12, as 2 12v battswould become 24vwhen wired in "series"

So you MUST wire them in "parallel"

I have seen the adapt kit in atlantic british but they are just for the series 1. Can you do this on a series 2? What would you need?

I ahve not seen the adaptor kit at AB, but if the kit is just for hooking the batteries together then it doesnt matter if it is for a DI or a DII.

Thats what I was thinking but for some reason Ialso thoughtthat it said specifically that it didn't work with the dIIs. I don't have the catalog in front of me though. Is there enough room?

I think, but am not 100% on this, that you need to remove the jack from under the hood and place your second battery there.
Somebody else will conferm or deny this.

They say to call them to find out how to put two batteries in your Rover.

Yes getting rid of the bottle jack is the only way to fit two batteries under the hood.

Got it! One question! With the parallel set up for the two batteries. Can I hook up the (-) cablefrom the second battery to the body or do i have to run the (-) cable back over to the primary battery?
