Default Dual CB Atenna mounted to OEM DII Wrap Aroud Brush Guard?

Does any see a problem with mounting a pair of these (http://www.walcottcb.com/firestik-fl...nna-p-896.html) to the two lighting mounts? I am new to CB's but think i would like to get one and It seems like a logical place to mount them, no?

I would get some mounting points welded to the spare carrier. I've got a couple on my jerry can holder (where my spare used to be) and it seems like a great place to put them if I were to do so.

I would mount on 4' Firestick to the spare tires also, not 2. 2 is over kill and not needed for anything under 3 or 4 miles of trails.
If you want to reach out further, mount a Wilson 1000 with a 4' stainless on the roof and reach out up to 20 miles.

Dual antennas should be 1/2 wave apart and if mounted on each side, will radiate more to the front and rear, probably not what you really want when off-roading.

The firestick is a good one, I just wouldn't use two of them.

Correct me if im wrong, but dont dual antenna's have to be a certain distance apart from each other to get a good calling radius? I feel like when I was in the antenna market this summer I read if they are too close they basically cancel out and act as one.

Personally, unless your Disco is trail-only, I would get very annoyed of those being there all the time. Yes, they look cool... but after a while that will wear off and they'll just get old. My antenna is an stainless steel whip and I love it. I mounted it to the back bumper and I really like the looks, and the stainless steel whips get the best reviews by off roaders because they are near impossible to break. Just something to consider...
