Default dumping oil after engine flush?

So two weekends ago, I changed the oil, and figured it wouldn't hurt to do an engine flush. So I do the engine flush, and put the new filter and oil on and ever since, its been leaking oil heavily. I'm thinking that maybe i forgot to take off the old oil filter gasket off, but when i look under the car, it doesnt look like its coming from the oil filter but oil is dripping on the axle then on to the road. Any ideas? Could the engine flush done something? I used atf for the flush of course. I'm getting ready to take off the filter and see if i did leave the old one on, is there anything else i should look for? Thanks in advance

Engine flush didn't cause this to happen. You are going to have to crawl under the truck and search for it, may need to degrease the under carriage and power scrub it to then find the leak.
Let us know what you find.

ok so i found the leak and took a picture, but my phone doesnt want to send pictures, so i'll describe what it is and maybe you 'll know... Above the oil filter there is a white "bulb" sticking out of a hole, with a "sensor" attached to it, the oil is coming out where the "sensor" and the "bulb" meet. what do i need to do to fix it, is it something as easy as detaching it and reattaching it, making sure it's on tight, or is it something more complicated.

I've only owned my 97 Discovery for a couple weeks and haven't yet been under the truck, but past experience would lead me to a 99% certainty that the "bulb" you described is the oil pressure sending unit.

That being said, I've never known one to be fixable if they leak. Just do a local auto parts store search and put on a new one. It's no harder to change out than it was loosening the oil drain plug, just a lot less torque.

your right, it's the oil pressure sending unit. I'll have the replacement in four days, and it'll be leak free, for about a week, until something else happens, lol. Only thing that bothers me is that no one ever has the part i need, they always have to order it, and i can never finish something in one sitting. Thanks Discover Carolina.

AutoZOne sells the oil PSI unit for $15.
It is a real PIA to repalce, the angle of it makes it hard to put a wrench on it, and it takes a big wrench.
