Default Duramax?

Anyone know of someone who's put a GM Duramax Diesel into their Discovery? The new one coming out looks pretty sweet and should fit.

Too heavy and way too much torque for the stock power train, you would need new diffs, t/case, tranny, drive shafts besides all the fuel and electrical stuff.

Yeah, I didn't realize the 4.5L wasn't out yet, that's the one I'm talking about. 300hp, 500ft/lb which with HD axles, uprated diffs, may be ok? Cummins is also supposed t release some v6 and v8 smaller diesels soon, one of them should be a good fit. Nobody here sells E85 and the 25% decrease in range is a major hit. My goal is to be able to drive 1000km per fill-up. I'm not in a rush though so I'll wait and find one that's a good match, or just buy a D110 or D130 pickup and put one in.

Yeah, but with E85 you need 25% more fuel than with petrol and almost double that of vege oil which really impacts the range.
