Default Electric fan

As I started up my 03 today to take it to the shop to get the oil pump replaced the electric fan came on with a bone cold engine and the idle was still up...shut off in about 60 to 90 sec...Thoughts?

Default Are you refering to the A/C condensor fan?

The A/c condenser fan will only come on when the air conditioning is turned on. That is the only electric fan our you DII's. I just replaced mine after noticing that it was not working. You can see it turn by looking into your grill when when your A/C is turned on. It keeps your coolant and engine cooler by up to 10 degrees in the hot summer. I tracked this by monitoring my ScanGuageII temp in the summer when my fan was broken & then after I fixed it. My 03 runs 188 - 205F most the time. Mostly sits at 195 on the highway. Thats with 2 bottles of water wetter while my fan was comming in the mail.
