There is letter in the VIN that tells whether or not you have SAI, I just can't remember what it is.

Yes and no.
There is a air filter that needs to be replaced once a year or so, if not then the pump will have to work really hard and make lots of noise and burn itself out.

In the "write up" section there is a how to on how to replace that filter.

I'll take a look...also, once in awhile I hear a ticking noise, thinking maybe lifters? Anyone had lifter problems? It doesn't make the noise all the time. Any good recommendations on where to pick up parts for these babies?

Lifter noise is normal on a higher mile LR.
There is a reason for it, the rocker arms have tin cups spot welded into them, the welds break and they rattle around.
No harm being done but they make noise, if you can live with the noise they will do that from now to eternity.

Do I have a freakin Lemon? Ok, so is it possible for the SAI to kick in when the Rover is warmed up? Temp. was in normal range, been driving for about 20-30 min. when I thought the tornado sirens were going off?

New Problem: Now, it seems sometimes the tranny is disengaging...I'll be driving, and it won't want to shift, so I take my foot off the accelerator and when I push it back down, the rpms shoot up or it doesn't seem to want to shift sometimes...I can take it up to 4,000 rpms and nothing, then when I back off that's when it seems to disengage. No lights are on...I'm going to have a tranny shop take a look at it too since I can't check the fluid with a dipstick it doesn't have.

Good news, a friend of a friend owns the shop so I'll get a discount. I love the truck, but damn, so far a lot of little nuances.

Thanks for your help.
