Wow! .....well.... I very much doubt you need ALL those components. See if you can find what Codes the vehicle threw, and we can help you more. Disco Mike is good on these. It is not normally seen--- O2 sensor failures at this mileage. Is your emissions schedule such that it needs to be smogged every two years? If it was running rich for a time, it can shorten the life of the Catalytic convertors (integral with the "Y-Pipe"--hence their comment about the exhaust system), but the Codes for "Catalyst efficiency" will be there. A Mass flow meter usually throws a Check engine light when it is failing.

If the vehicle was reasonably maintained (like having the major 60K service done) this amount of work needed would be unusual. But then, most of us have seen Land Rovers that defy all logic and run sweet for a long time, and others that just seem to be problematic all the way down the pipe.

Please read my tech info sections at the website for more info.

Hope this helps.

I also have a 99 D2 and think some one is pulling your chain.
How does the truck drive, how often is the oil changed, what gas do you use??
What part of the test did the truck fail?
Go to a good auto parts store and ask them to read your codes for you, make sure to write down all the numbers and get back to me.

This is the prime reason why I never take my cars into the shop. With just a little mechanical knowledge, tools, and the internet you can fix everything yourself.

I agree, because I would never touch a tranny besides removal and replace.

I would start with the basics and replace the plugs and wires, pt some magnacors on it.
The MAF on a 99 is a cheap one at about$136 but don't put it on until after the plugs and wires, then go clear the codes and see what shows up. Most likely it will need to be replaced, takes all of 5 minutes.
How the hell did she let it get this bad?
If she has been this bad on service, I would suggest an engine flush cause a dirty crank case can fail an engine easily.
