Engine ? Compatible years
I have a 99 disco II . I bought it knowing that the guy put in a used engine with 100 k ( according to him) . I am now experiencing a misfire on cylinders 4 and 7 so pulling plugs etc.......
Plugs are nkg bpr 5 egp.
Did a search on the nkg site and they show they are for a land rover 94-97 . I have found all sorts of crap on this vehicle over the last 10 months so the fact this is could be an engine out of a disco I would not surprise me.
so I guess my question is:
Is this a fit that would work? 99 disco 11 with a 97 disco I engine and if that is possible how do I find the exact year of the engine
ie: serial number somewhere etc ........
Thanks!

If you want a good plug consider the E# #48 for a lot more low end torque and better mileage.
Make sure you are running 8 mm silicone wires like STI's or Magnecors.
Are you looking for an engine swap with a D1 engine, can be done with a fair amount of modification to accomodate the different crank sensor.

ok will pull serial number and post and yes poncePR is correct! I guess if I need to replace anything in relation to the engine I better not go off of the thinking it's a 99 disco II until I know for sure!
plugs were all clean and burning identical. tested all plugs for spark with garage door closed and all seem to have identical spark. wires are black 7mm hi-temp and something that may read ( sorry worn off ) radio interference.

First that is not how to test for 55,00 volts of spark, even 12 plus volts will make them spark. Since you have 7 mm black wire, get rid of them and go to some 8 mm silicone wires like STI or Magnecors.
As for the motor number, I have not seen a chart breaking down those numbers, you may need to talk to the dealer for that.
