Do the fan and clutch both no matter what year you got. My daughters 02 had a fan come apart like a grenade. 1000 dollars in damage at a shop in colorado. Shroud, belt, fan, ps reservoir, radiator, etc. Its a cheap upgrade and good peace of mind. Heavy duty hayden with the dorman fan.

the 03-04 "BorgWarner" fans don't blow up,but if anyone has the ringed 02-earlier fan,get that swapped out for something else ASAP.Take the old ring fan and make a garage clock or garden windmill out of it

Zuke, when the fan came apart in your truck was there any evidence there was also problem with the water pump, and were the motor mounts sound?

I recently replaced the water pump and fan clutch in my truck. I cleaned and carefully inspected the fan and found no stress cracks or evidence of anything wrong with the fan. I know the Dorman fan is inexpensive, but I'm an admitted cheapskate!
