One last and quick question. What is the best way to go about at getting to this. I am sure there might not be a best way, just bloody knuckles and time....hopefully not.

 

Most people find it easiest to lay under the truck instead of trying from the top.
Make sure when removing and installing that you do not bend the small post assembly.
Also, if you v/c gasket is leaking oil down onto the sensor, tighten the v/c bolts to around 10 ft. lbs. then power scrub your engine prior to replacing the sensor.

Yes the valve cover bolts are 8mm 12point.

 

Just got the part in. I am going to go replace it. Will the change cause there to be any codes that need to be cleared?

Well, got it done. It was a HUGE pain in the ***. Took about an hour. Truck runs fine, with the exception of my service engine light coming on after about 20 minutes of driving. I guess a trip to autozone to hook up the scanner is in order. I just bought a scanner the other day but it is not in yet....figures.

 

Ok, got the codes read and my guess was right. O2 sensor. P0134, P0154. Why, after changing the cranksahft position sensor would these then trigger... I guess time to ring Atlantic again and order 4 more parts....
