Engine light and a code I can't find
Well, it looks like I've found the right place. I just bought a clean 98 Disco and now have a Check Engine light. The Pep Boys tell me the code is P1170, which I can't find anywhere. It seem to be in O2 sensor family. Can anyone help interpret this one?
Thanks in advance.

I have that code too.... have had all 4 O2 sensors replaced. this code showed up after the four sensors were put in, came up a couple thousand miles later. i plan to do a tune up soon, as theres codes for misfires that should go away after tune-up. believe me, ive had a dealer investigating the 1170 code and he couldnt tell me anything about it.

Oh, and bank 1 is the driver's side (left) not the right. Pretty sure it means that the front sensor is aged and the rear cannot get the right lean (min) or rich (max) mixture. If I was right on my assumption, you should do all 4 O2's.
JBEGIN- your tune should help this. If it is mis-firing, it can't adjust the mixture right if it isn't burning consistently.
