Engine Removal 4.6
What do I need to successfully remove the 4.6 engine? Any procedure online that you can suggest? I checked RAVE but cant find detailed instructions. Just dont know where to start. So far, I took the cylinder heads already. My block is cracked. Thanks
flex plate bolts, bell housing bolts, front accessory mounts, all wiring disconnected, engine mounts, and remove the hood.
I usually start underneath, with the exhaust, flex plate bolts (through hole in bell-housing beneath starter/remove rubber plug), bell-housing bolts and motor mounts. I removed the motor mounts completely (after supporting engine with overhead crane) and this allowed me to lower the engine onto the axle...exposing some of the harder to reach bell-housing bolts. Once I'm done underneath the fluids get drained and my attentions turn to everything under the hood. Since you already have the heads off, the exhaust and front brackets are probably already off, so basically you can just unhook the rest of the wiring harness, remove hoses and radiator (it helps give you more room for removal of engine), then start lifting out, slowly, since anything you missed will appear quickly.

Brian.
I like to pull the hood for better light and ease of movement.
You either need to remove the power steering pump so it will stay in the truck or disconnect the lines so it can go with the motor.
Transmission I would brace the bell housing so it doesn't over stress the tranny mount.
Radiator I would remove.
Wiring can be disconnect from the starter and it can go with the motor or remove before pulling it. I just pull it first, one less thing to bang into stuff

Georgia?
Somebody in Georgia sells new Rover engines? Who?
The radiator removal for the first timer will be the most frustrating exercise in "what the $@#% were those idiot engineers thinking when they designed this #$#@@ radiator mounting system"...
At least it was for me. After doing it 7 times in a two year period, it takes just a couple of minutes.

Should have let me know i could have got it to MAR and we probably could have got it to Jersey from there
