Engine Removal Hoist Set-Up
Hopefully you don't need these pointers, but if you do I think they'll help you a great bit.
Engine removal and lifting points have always been something I've disputed in my mind when pulling one of these engines.
I've used my load leveler in past R&R's with removing the intake while the engine is still in the truck using the bolt holes for mounting the intake as my bolt up points for lifting.
This time around I didn't want to remove or re-install the intake while in the truck so I came up with this set up.
You can buy the load leveler at Harbor freight which I feel makes R&Ring the engine much easier being able to cant the the engine forward or aft.
The addition I made this time around was the angle iron as seen in the picture. This allowed me to R&R the engine with my objective of not having to work on the intake while in the truck. It turned out to work perfectly and made the job much easier.
