They do not need to be remapped. Would it help, sure but the gains are to me at least not worth the cost to deal with shipping to TWS or tornado in UK (same service just I think TWS is a middle man in the states for tornado). No negative effects other than maybe a slight downturn in mpg but let's be honest these are far from efficient so that is a non factor imo.
