Epic Out West Trip - Upgrades Needed?
The baby of the family is 13, with a couple teenagers 17 and 18 and the oldest...32 (if you go by vin, title 31)...so now we come at 20.
And yep, when folks complain about their car payment...l'm like..."what's that?" Granted, all of the parts vendors, domestic and foreign and for accessories, send me Christmas cards...as l put their children through college...lol.
If you haven’t been out in Phoenix type temperatures before, just be sure the Disco is ready for it… not that you’ll be getting to Phoenix. But, you have potential for some good high temps. Great trip. Did the reverse recently on two wheels…
No kidding. Death Valley hit 130 deg.
Captain Aaron, where in NC are you? There are a few of us on this forum in Charlotte. It's about an hour and 20 minutes for me to Eldorado Outpost.
... Decided to head up to North Caroline which is a bit closer to me. looking at the uwharrie national forest as my main focus. Let me me know if any of your east coast guys want to meet up. Planning on doing something this month before school starts back. https://www.ourstate.com/sacred-land...tional-forest/
Also, you might want to wait until October and come up for the annual (except last year - Covid) Uwharrie Rover Expedition hosted by the Old North State Land Rover Society. Last time I attended there were three dozen Rovers of all types, and everything from bone stock to heavily modded. That would make your trip to Uwharrie a more rich and worthwhile experience, I'd think.

There's also a private offroad park somewhere about halfway between Columbia and Charlotte, I recall. I don't recall the name and I've not been there, but if you're heading to Uwharrie from Florida you might try searching for it.

This one is back on for late June - early July. Red Cone to Moab. Moab to Grand Staircase. Let me know if you are interested and your Disco is up for the challenge! https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?m...07&usp=sharing
If it didn't cost me a week of vacation, I would definitely join you!
